The Research-Montmorency Veterinary Practice provides our local community with the two companion animal clinics in Research and Montmorency. The premises at Montmorency provides both our companion animal clinics with the complete support of modern veterinary hospital facilities.

Experience & Qualifications

First established in 1979 by Dr. Christopher Barton, the Research Veterinary Clinic then expanded in 1981 to include the Montmorency Veterinary Clinic in order to service the community closer in proximity to Greensborough, St Helena, Briar Hill, Lower Plenty and Montmorency.

In May 1996 the Montmorency Veterinary Clinic relocated to the newly developed hospital site in Sherbourne Road.

Dr Christopher Barton B.V.S.c. (Hons) B.Sci; Dip.Sci.Ag. graduated from the University of New England in 1971 and the University of Queensland in 1977.

Dr Joseph Galbally B.V.S.c.(Hons); M.R.C.V.S. graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1982.


Dr Barton and Dr Galbally both have special interests in companion animal medicine and surgery.
